Visiting Angels

I was verbally sexually harassed at my intake alone in my apartment with the head caregiver boss lady, but it went over my head as a part of my autistic trait of not being able to read a room or people. I was then assigned a caregiver who made it known to me that she was said harasser's BFF and asked me inappropriate questions after each shift, i.e., who do I think is prettier, who do I like more, etc., which I said I was not comfortable answering.

Then I started being treated very coldly after consistent stressful scheduling incompetencies and overlooking of my disabilities, and I was reduced to always over-apologizing for being difficult for wanting basic competency and less stress. I often begged not to be dropped, but to no avail—I was dropped anyway and accused of actually insulting the sexual harasser boss, who I forgot to mention called me once and told me her life story and uncomfortable details and said I was the only one she ever told because she really liked me. Meanwhile, we were the utmost of strangers.

Now I'm being scolded and then fully ignored by my case manager from Adult Aging Services after she demanded I tell her the story through text, which I wanted to tell her in person instead, but I told her in text, and then she scolded me, while only harping on the detail of my failure to answer her call that I never received. There are no lawyers in my town that take this kind of case, and caregivers only think that sexual harassment happens to them, not the helpless clients.

My reliance that Visiting Angles representative knew what she was doing *at the width of the door opened from my home. Concerning how long of time the door was remaining open.

?maybe the season, hence timing, of the year having to do with this?~ As I never before had a moth in my home before, until that day,which being a visit.

I was the 1who told the (Visiting)"Angle" of THAT 'moth' as I was the only 1 at then claiming to had seen of it. The "Angle" replied in such a way that proved she had higher concerns of past days/issues. WE as an audience know what future possibilities a MOTH having.

In why items for such can be purchased, for the sake of preparation. I not have yet attempted contact to "Visiting Angles", as I first chose to make this.review.

Antoinette Torres took advantage of my kindness. She would come to my house, be on her phone and laptop, and I would barely ask for anything.

She wanted to go out, but it was more for her, so I went. Then, if she came to my house late, she would ask if I could clock her in, so I did. She had appointments that I allowed her to go to, but she was still getting paid. Eventually, she started to make more appointments on company time and more.

Today she came telling me that when she returns from vacation, she wants to come in at 8:30 AM instead of 9:00 AM. I told her I would have to think about it. She said it's only for 30 days and that there's another caretaker who can do it. I said yes and then she said to think about it.

I said, 'No, I'll get someone else.' She left, and I got upset, so I texted her to come here, get her things, and that she can go home. I said I didn't want to argue.

Then she took it upon herself to call my husband and say I was treating her poorly, but I did nothing of the sort. I wrote to her and asked, 'Why did you do that?' She then copied and pasted and sent it to my husband after I told her she had started a war, and then some.

I am writing to express grave concerns about the conduct of the Visiting Angels franchise in Burlington / Colchester, Vermont. I have learned of several troubling incidents, including:

Sexual Harassment: A former employee is suing the franchise owner for sexual harassment during a company workshop.

Failure to Report Elder Abuse: The franchise knowingly hired an employee with a history of theft from a client.

They failed to file a mandatory report with Adult Protective Services, jeopardizing the client's well-being.

Unfair Pay Practices: The owner allegedly alters the pay structure without proper notice, leading to employees being underpaid and potential violations of wage and labor laws.

Misrepresentation of Caregiver Qualifications: The franchise misleads clients by claiming that all caregivers are LNA certified when this is not the case.

These actions raise serious questions about the franchise's commitment to ethical practices and client safety. I urge the following entities to investigate these matters:

Vermont Department of Labor

Relevant state agencies (e.g., Adult Protective Services)

Visiting Angels Corporate Office

Local news outlets (Channel 3, Channel 5)

I strongly discourage anyone from seeking services from the Colchester/Burlington Visiting Angels franchise until these issues are thoroughly addressed.

Well the managers at the office in Bloomington are neglecting me by not getting me care. I'm a disabled person and I'm not happy about what they do to me every week by not getting me people on anytime that they say.

Oh. We're trying to find somebody but they don't get anybody. Don't call you. Don't text you until 10 minutes until the shift is up and everything like that.

And basically no one gives satisfaction of what they know how to do. They don't have very much training doing the job and basically they try to pair you with somebody that you don't like all the time and basically like Alexa for days and days. So I'm not too happy with the company and I think they're out to get me for one or somebody has something against me in the company or any of the companies that I've ever dealt with because they all act the same and I'm a fall risk. I'm in a wheelchair and basically they don't care about me like they say in the beginning and that's what I have to say.

So if you get needing help watch who you get because basically this company is going to not give you the help that you need or they will and they just neglect me.

We hired Visiting Angels to care for our dying mom. The Community Liaison came to our home to meet with us so that they could develop a " care plan" of the services that would be rendered and then find the "perfect" caregiver to provide those services.

One of the requirements was to help transfer my mom from her bed to a chair. This involved lifting her up. The liaison said that was not a problem. Once we signed the contract and then got the care plan, it said they could not lift her as she weighs more 25 lbs.

Then the first caregiver came, and she was 7.5 months pregnant and couldn't perform the necessary tasks. When I called the office to say it wasn't a fit, I was told that they had no idea she was expecting. The second caregiver, called 1/2 hour before her shift to say she wouldn't be coming. The third caregiver came and she said that she just wanted to watch us do everything the first time so she could see how we did the tasks and emulate that.

We agreed - so we basically paid her to sit and do nothing. When she came back the next day, she was unable to perform any of the tasks and said she was uncomfortable so she sat and watched television for her shift. Meanwhile we are stuck paying for the 4 hour shift because she showed up. It doesn't matter if they can perform the tasks.

When I talked to the office, they apologized and said that they did not realize that she was not trained to perform the tasks on the care plan. We finally just fired them because it was clear that they do not screen employees or train employees.

They just put warm bodies in the spot so that they can bill you. Find another agency if you want good care for your loved one!!
