Awful experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Donna is rude, and unprofessional. I have fought for 2 weeks to get my last paycheck. I still haven't received it. Donna is a liar. She outright told me to commit fraud on a timesheet, the acted like she got mixed up. They also don't allow their employees to take a break, and don't allow you to eat or have a drink of water while on the clock. I called the corporate office to get some results, and they were less than helpful. I got bit by a client's dog and when I reported it, she did nothing about it. She hired me to work in the office, then had several excuses as to why she had me going to homes as a caregiver. At a client's house she went with me too, she told them my personal business. Very unprofessional and unorganzied. I wouldn't leave that company in charge of a flea.

Dishonest, uncaring, unethical, and stole from moms home

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They were hired to cared for my mom. I started to notice the food I bought for my mom they were taking home with them. Just to feed my mom I had to buy 3 times more then usual. The owner told the care givers to spy on family, telling them one was on drugs, and another was not allowed to be alone with the mom by "court order". Both are lies when confronted she lied. possessions began missing, my mom was sat in front of a TV all day, the care givers would sneak laundry in and do it, they slept when they were working, and showered before leaving. Once my mom was found wandering down the street without alone by friend. I would not recommend this company to anyone at all. They charged over $20,000.00 a month for care givers per month. That was close to 3 times what is standard. They are NOT a care giver service, they are cons acting like care givers service to enter your home to rob you of stuff, and charge you for it. The women who runs the one in Riverside Ca. is the most horrible, dishonest, lying, bully you will meet.

Bad experience as a worker, also don't hire them. Visiting Angels Madison wi

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I know all visiting Angels are different but the one in Madison WI is horrible for workers and if I had a loved one who needed help at home I wouldn't hire them. You get paid low, no health, dental, vision, paid time off or 401k.

You have no room for advancement. You also have to have a good car, insurance, a smartphone, pay for appearel, and sometimes drive over an hour at night for just one shift. In Madison you might not be able to keep up with rent if you work here. It's nice meeting new people and helping them with what they need but I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone unless they only want 10-15 hours a week but then again sometimes they will only give you 5 hours in a week if you ask for 15.

If you want a 20-40hr a week job go to another company. You do so much traveling to multiple short shifts no matter the time of day or weather conditions(sometimes it's not safe especially in winter) and you get paid very little for it which means they're taking advantage of you. With all the driving you do you can actually end up losing money because the compensation for gas is low and doesn't include oil changes, brakes, tires or any of the constant things a highly driven car needs. Sometimes you can have three or four short shifts in a day and the time spacing for them makes no sense so not only do you end up driving 3-4hours in a single day you might end up sitting in your car for an hour waiting for a shift to start or more commonly you will be late for your next shift because they didn't give you enough time to get there.

The hours and schedule don't make sense week to week. First off, the schedule always comes out late and will never be the same two weeks in a row (I don't know why because many clients have complained about having too many different people coming in their home). Sometimes they schedule it so you will have to stay up for over 30hrs and when you do get to sleep for overnights you sometimes have to get up 3-5 times if not more and are allowed only 5 hours of sleep during that time meaning you get no sleep. This company extremely undervalues its employees which is why it has such high turnover.

I won't go into any more details but I'm writing this because I don't think employees and sometimes clients should be treated like this. Work somewhere else and hire someone else.

Visiting Angels in Home Elderly Care

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Our family has employed visiting angels, North Hills, Pittsburgh, PA for the past 11 months. We had two or three wonderful people, but most of their employees are young nursing students who have no idea how to interact or care for the elderly.

They were happy to let her lay in bed until 3:00 in the afternoon so that they could do their homework, play on their phones and/or watch tv. When they did get her up and about, they'd plop her in front of the tv and then go into another room to resume studies or continue to play on their phone. One day, I stopped at 3:30 in the afternoon and the girl was sitting on the couch with her head phones on and had my mom tucked in bed. If my mom would've called out for help, she never would have heard her.

In looking through their food log, in a 10-hour period on a Saturday, she was fed a snack size container of applesauce and 3 pretzels!! Another Saturday, it was a scoop of chicken salad and 3 crackers, another Saturday it was a bowl of cereal - that was it for the whole 10-hour shift. There was no consistency in the people, sometimes they'd alternate 2 or 3 different people on a Saturday. The communion lady, her neighbors all commented on the lack of interaction these girls had with my mom.

Someone said - no wonder they're called 'visiting' angels -- they don't want to do any work. It's a shameful, unprofessional company. They take advantage of the elderly and charge $25 an hour, but probably pay their employees minimum wage. If you employee this company, I urge you to stop and spot check to see what's going on (or install cameras).

I wish I would've done that. My mom also had bruises on her wrists from them pulling her out of bed. I realize she's elderly, thin skinned and can bruise easily, but you can hold hands, or support her behind the elbow to help her out of bed. One Saturday, no one showed up!

One Saturday evening, the girl left an hour early without clocking out or letting me know that I should go over earlier. I regret staying with this organization for as long as I did.

They are unprofessional and incompetent. Please do your homework before signing up.

I wanted to update this review to say that the owner called me and apologized for the short notice in cancelling the service and she is going to personally take care of my mom this weekend. I really appreciate that she's making things right, and she is willing to help until we find a replacement agency.

Run from this agency. Workers are unskilled/untrained.

Hired company for peace of mind, they have primarily been more work for me as a family member. Unprofessional, unskilled, poor interpersonal skills - workers make little effort to get to know the person they are hired to help.

My mother has literally been abandoned by one worker. My mother is never to be left alone, and one of these "angels" went out shopping and left her alone in the house!!!! I am so disgusted by the quality of care - last night worker told my mother she "needed her sleep" when my mother needed help using the bathroom in the middle of the night. I could go on and on.

Most of their workers don't cook, and as for cleaning you might as well beat your head against the wall. Again, run from the Worcester Visiting Angels.

Visiting angles in the villages

I worked for visiting angles in the villages.. The scheduling lady didn't like me ,always very rude and ignore to in the office. This has been going on for several times. Calls me on the phone cussing at me all hours of the night and sending me text messages telling me that I don't belong here and that she will get me fired, cause she told me she didn't like me so had to shut phone off.So I called someone else in the office ,they tell me to go and tell the owner..So I went to work and the client I was taking care of got sick and had to go to the hospital..I went to the hospital with client ,while waiting I call and tell the owner what was going on and the owner tells me that im fired,i asked her for what im trying to tell you what your scheduling person did to me the night before..She tells me she don't wanna here it.Shes been here longer then you have.So the owner unprofessional hangs up on me. I call back and they tell me that I cant be at the hospital with the client that is sick and that they will have me aarrested if I don't leave the hospital ,this is from the scheduling lady that works in the villages. In the mean time ,I have no idea how the client is doing..BE WARE OF THIS company Visiting ANGLES IN THE VILLAGES..If they don't treat their employes right what makes you think that they will treat your family right as well.If an owner of a company can't listen to her employees that make her money and try to fix the problems that are going on in the company ,well them that company shouldn't be open .I wouldn't have my parents with this company they don't treat there staff with RESPECT!!!!!!!!!

Visiting Angels TERRIBLE experience.... Non Caring Owners and Staff

Tried using Visiting Angels service located in Wilmington DE. Their number is 302-691-****. They show up only half the time and usually never call you to let you know. The Owner Thomas Smith and son Justin Smith have no idea whats going on with their business. Nobody ever knows if the caregivers show up. Most have no training or skills needed to do the job and know nothing about the client before they get there! Thomas Smith came to my home to address the poor service we received since day one from them. We put up with for weeks. Thomas Smith shook my hand and said they would take care of it, THAT SAME DAY NO CAREGIVER SHOWED UP AND NOBODY FROM THE OFFICE CALLED ME OR EVEN KNEW UNTIL I CALLED. This is the service you get from this Visiting Angels location. The owners really don't care and it shows in how they run the place. Keith M / Nancy L

LOVELY name/ Horrible Franchise Company Office staff as well as the Owner Very Unprofessional, unskilled, poor interpersonal skills. Complete disregard to resident privacy and HIPPA.

I love the lady as well as other clients that I cared for so I stayed so much longer then I really wanted to. The lack of respect is embarrassing,to just tell someone ( new caregiver)this is your new client. Good Luck. The clients over pay for services that are over looked and not done at all.

Clients are scared/fearful to speak to the the owner or another staff member in fear of retaliation. Office staff speaks rudely and talks down to the client. Outside of the life enriching mom8 and bonds built with caregiving, this company was the worst job I have ever had.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND Visiting Angels out of Nappanee IN as caregiver company. Please do the research for the sake of your loved ones.

I was promised just one main "Caregiver", a backup, and a third for emergencies only. By the time this Agency FRAUDULENTLY Abandoned me after only 44 days, I'd been through 11 different thieving strangers, requiring me to keep my apartment unlocked 24/7.

22 year old President& CEO? Replaced by a more childish 23 year old boy? Fraudsters from the start, many crimes against myself and my property before their criminal Abandonment.

Seeking a very good Civil Rights Lawyer for the entire fiasco. Thanks.

My experience with Visiting Angels

I worked for Visiting Angels for about 6 months. It was a good way to get some basic experience caring for clients.

But, most of the time the clients were 30-50 miles away., They didn't assist with gas unless you used your car to transport them on errands--record the mileage from their house. Sometimes I had trouble locating the client's house, even with GPS. The only way you make money is if you stay with a client 12 hours, night or day. Usually these clients are not able to do hardly anything for themselves.

The patient was not the problem. It was their relative, or husband/wife who was cranky, rude. I needed more training especially with transfers, but the office was an hour away, making it inconvenient for me to get extra training. I know it's said light housekeeping was one of the tasks we would help with.

But when you're helping someone who can't clean up much after themselves, the housekeeping wasn't what I call "light." I felt like I got one heck of a workout. I was not called often enough to pay for the gas, or enough to make a positive difference financially. Also, if you get into a situation where you are driving the client's vehicle most of the time, it's wise to call ahead and find out if you'll be using their car or yours.

I showed up and I was unprepared to use my car to drive client around on errands, and I didn't have money for gas. I got fired.

I had the same trouble with her I have been fighting for 3 weeks to get my last paycheck. She shared my personal information with a client, and she screamed at the client's husband for offering us coffee.

Also was told we couldn't have a break while working, and was also told I couldn't even have water to drink. I went to a different homecare company and have been there a month.
